Welcome to my world, a world of paranormal and fantasy.  Now that you have stumbled across my page I'd like to introduce myself and invite you to stay for a turn.

     My name is Dawna M. Richard and I am an aspiring author, writing under the pen name of Kylie Dawn.  I write Urban fantasy and paranormal romance.  I have been a member or Romance Writers of America since 2004 and currently hold the position of President with Yosemite Romance Writers. 

     Writing is something I was never able to walk away from.  New characters and ideas for stories are always flashing in my mind and the drive to get those stories on paper never dissipates.  As a child I created stories in my head and acted the part of the characters.  Sometimes I still find doing so helps with my character creation. 

     Writing is only a part of who I am.  Again, at an early age, like with my writing,  I became fascinated with the paranormal and it was something I couldn't walk away from.  There were always strange happenings going on in my childhood home.  Things would disappear and then reappear right before our eyes, faucets would turn on, and my bed would shake.  These are only a few things that went on.  I know some things can be explained, but this sparked my interest in finding out what was truly out there. 

         As I grew up I read books, took classes, and learned as much as I could about the paranormal.  I'm a skeptic at heart and always try to find a way to disprove or debunk the anomalies going on around me,  but there are things that happen that I can give no explanation for.

     Now I work with my own team "California Paranormal Research & Enlightenment".  We travel throughout California investigating claims of haunted locals and other paranormal phenomenon.  Paranormal investigating has been an exciting adventure and something I'll probably continue to do for years to come.  Like writing, its a part of who I am.
